July 18 Recap

Trois-Rivieres 9, Quebec 4 – Box Score

Trois-Rivieres scored three runs in the third inning to take the lead for good at 5-3 and would go on to defeat Quebec by the score of 9-4. With the victory, the Aigles took two out of three in the series and have now won four of their last five games.

The Aigles pounded out 15 hits in the contest with every batter in the lineup picking-up at least one. Trois-Rivieres CF Raphael Gladu led the way going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs.  Aigles LF David Glaude (pictured) scored two runs and drove in one in a 1-for-3 night while 2B Tucker Nathans added three hits in five at-bats along with a run batted in. Trois-Rivieres tallied all nine of their runs in five of the first six innings of the game.

Aigles starting pitcher Chris Murphy gave up two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings pitched and collected the victory. The Millersville University product allowed a pair of walks and nine hits while striking out six batters. With the win, Murphy evened his record at 4-4 on the year.

Third baseman Jesse Hodges had a 2-for-3 game with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI in the loss for the Capitales.

 

Sussex County at New Jersey (Suspended Game from July 17th & Regularly Scheduled Game – Postponed/Rain)

The doubleheader scheduled between Sussex County and New Jersey was postponed due to rain. The July 17th suspended game will be made up on Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00 AM followed by the game already scheduled for that day.

The July 18th regularly scheduled game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, August 9th beginning at 6:05 PM.
