Trois-Rivieres 5, Ottawa 1 – Box Score

Trois-Rivieres continues to play solid baseball as they notched their fourth straight win with a 5-1 decision over Ottawa. The Aigles scored three runs in the first inning to jump ahead 3-0 and would cruise from there to the big victory.

The 2-3 hitters of LF Javier Herrera and 3B Taylor Brennan (pictured) led the offense for Trois-Rivieres. The duo combined to go 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and four RBI. Brennan also chipped in his league leading 19th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the first.

Aigles starter Tyler Garkow threw seven solid innings in winning his third straight decision. Garkow gave up an earned run on four hits with three walks and six punchouts. With the victory, the righty is now 6-2 on the year.


Sussex County 12, New Jersey 2 – Box Score

Sussex County picked up their fourth straight victory as they defeated New Jersey by the score of 12-2. The Miners jumped out to a 5-2 lead after three innings of play and would never look back en route to their 35th win of the season.

Offensively for Sussex County, the team collected 14 hits. Miners 1B Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI while DH Daniel Mateo added a blast of his own along with scoring three runs and driving in two. Right fielder Breland Almadova also chipped in three hits in four at-bats and three RBIs for Sussex County.

Miners starting pitcher David Rollins tossed seven solid innings and notched his league tying seventh win of the season. Rollins allowed two earned runs on six hits and struck out five batters.

For New Jersey in defeat, DH Nolan Meadows went 1-for-3 with a run scored.


Rockland 6, Quebec 2 – Box Score

Rockland evened up the four-game series at a game piece with a 6-2 win over Quebec.

The Boulders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-RBI triple from LF Kevin Krause. Rockland would increase their advantage to 4-0 in the fifth as 1B Conrad Gregor hit a solo home run and C Marcus Nidiffer came home on a run producing single from 2B Jared McDonald. The Capitales tallied their first run of the contest in the fifth on an RBI groundout from CF Nick Van Stratten. The Boulders then added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh to make it 6-1 before Quebec rounded out the scoring with a run in the final frame of the contest.

Krause went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs while Nidiffer collected two hits in four at-bats and plated three runs.

Rockland starting pitcher Travis Hissong threw 5 2/3 innings and notched his fourth win of the season. Hissong gave up an earned run on three hits with five walks and six strikeouts.

For Quebec, Van Stratten went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
