AIGLES’ DOMINANT HARRIS TABBED AS PITCHER OF THE MONTH

Thornhill, Ontario — Trois-Rivières Aigles RHP Garrett Harris has been named the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the Month for the month of June 2019, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician.

In 37.2 innings pitched, Harris went 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA, striking out 42 hitters and limiting opponents to a .181 batting average as the Aigles went 18-7 in June. In his most notable outings, the native of College Station, Texas, threw nine outstanding frames in the Aigles’ 7-1 extra-inning victory Quebec on June 14, allowing one run on four hits and striking out 11. Harris followed the performance up with eight superb innings against Cuba on June 23, giving up a run on five hits and earning the win.

The 25-year-old currently leads the league with 63 strikeouts and 52.2 innings pitched, is tied for the league with five victories and is second with a 2.39 ERA. Previously, Harris spent the 2018 season with Evansville of the Frontier League and the 2016 and 2017 campaigns in the Kansas City Royals organization after playing collegiately at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
