The Ottawa Champions rolled out to a 3-0 lead after an inning of play and would cruise from there to an 10-2 win over the Quebec Capitales.

Ottawa was solid offensively tonight as they pounded out 12 hits in the game with every batter in the lineup collecting at least one. Champions RF Steve Brown went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two stolen bases while C Tyler Nordgren (pictured) had a hit in three at-bats along with two runs scored and an RBI. Center fielder Chase Harris and 1B Vincent Guglietti also contributed a pair of hits and a run for Ottawa.

The Champions scored in every inning but the second and eighth.

Ottawa starting pitcher Steve Borkowski tossed eight solid innings in earning his third victory of the season. Borkowski allowed two earned runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

For Quebec in the losing effort, 1B/C Adam Ehrlich went 2-for-3 with a home run.

 

Rockland at Sussex County (Postponed – Rain)

The game between Rockland and Sussex County was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, July 18 beginning at 5:05 PM.

 

Trois-Rivieres at New Jersey (Postponed – Rain)

The game between Trois-Rivieres and New Jersey was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as a part of a doubleheader on Thursday, August 9 beginning at 5:05 PM.
