Quebec 13, New Jersey 0 – Box Score

It was all Quebec tonight as the Capitales rolled past New Jersey by the score of 13-0.

There were nine hits collected by Quebec with eight batters picking-up at least one. Capitales 1B TJ White (pictured) led the way at the plate going 1-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Quebec DH Zach Wllson had a two-hit game with two runs and an RBI while LF Stayler Hernandez contributed a home run along with a pair of runs and two RBIs.

Capitales starting pitcher Scott Richmond and two relievers combined on a three-hit shutout. Richmond went the first seven innings allowing two hits and four walks while fanning eight batters. The bullpen duo of Reilly Hovis and Lachlan Fontaine tossed the final two frames and combined gave up a hit and struck out two batters. Richmond notched the win and is now 5-4 on the year.


Rockland 3, Trois-Rivieres 1 – Box Score

Rockland jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 2 1/2 innings of play and would go on from there to defeat Trois-Rivieres by the final of 3-1.

The Boulders received solid pitching performances from starter Edgar De La Rosa and their two relievers. The 28-year-old De La Rosa went 7 2/3 innings allowing an earned run on three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. The bullpen duo of James Mulry and Robbie Gordon finished the contest by throwing a combined 1 1/3 shutout innings and striking out three hitters. De La Rosa earned the win and is now 2-0 while Gordon collected his 11th save.

Offensively for Rockland, 3B John Brontsema went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored while DH Matt Oberste picked-up a pair of RBIs in a 1-for-3 outing.

For the Aigles in the losing effort, C Anthony Hermelyn had a 1-for-2 night and scored a run.


Sussex County 7, Ottawa 3 – Box Score

Sussex County put this contest away early, scoring five runs over their first four frames and cruising to a 7-3 win over Ottawa.

The Miners had 12 hits in the game with four batters collecting two apiece. Sussex County CF Brandon Downes went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI while LF Jose Brizuela and 3B Nate Coronado each picked-up two hits and scored a run. First baseman Audy Ciriaco also helped the Miners offense by driving in a run and going 2-for-4.

Sussex County starting pitcher Andrew Gist tossed 7 1/3 innings and picked-up the win. The lefty gave up three earned runs on three hits and struck out four batters. Gist is now 8-1 on the season with the victory.

Right fielder Adron Chambers went 1-for-2 with an RBI in the loss for the Champions.
