Ottawa 9, Sussex County 0 – Box Score

It was all Ottawa this afternoon as the Champions shutout Sussex County by the score of 9-0.

Ottawa pounded out 11 hits in the contest with nine batters collecting at least one. Champions LF Brian Portelli went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI while 1B Vincent Guglietti launched a home run, scored two runs and drove in two. Center fielder Chase Harris (pictured) also chipped in a three-run shot for Ottawa.

Champions starting pitcher Austin Chrismon tossed an eight-hit complete shutout to win his seventh game of the season. Chrismon struck three and walked none in his 108-pitch performance.

With the victory, Ottawa won the weekend series two games to one.


New Jersey 10, Quebec 7 – Box Score

New Jersey scored early and often as they plated all 10 of their runs in the first four innings and defeated Quebec, 10-7.

The Jackals collected 14 hits as a team with six batters having multi-hit games. New Jersey CF David Harris went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs while 1B Daniel Canela had two hits in five at-bats along with a run and an RBI. Designated hitter John Ruettiger and SS Carlos Triunfel each chipped in two hits and two runs for the Jackals.

New Jersey starting pitcher Dylan Brammer threw five innings and picked-up his seventh win of the year. Brammer allowed four earned runs on six hits and struck out five batters.

For the Capitales in the losing effort, SS Yordan Manduley had a solid game going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.
