Ottawa 6, Rockland 5 – Box Score

Designated hitter Sebastien Boucher doubled home C Tyler Nordgren (pictured) with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Ottawa defeated Rockland in a walk-off, 6-5. The Boulders had a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the seventh only to see the Champions score four runs over their final three trips to the plate to rally to the victory.

Ottawa had nine hits in the game and was led by Nordgren who went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Champions SS Daniel Bick added a pair of hits along with a run and an RBI while 1B/LF Brian Portelli had a 1-for-4 outing and drove in a run.

Champions pitcher Scott Maine threw an inning of scoreless relief to nab the win. Maine struck out one in the three batters he faced and improved his mark to 3-3 on the year.

For Rockland in the losing effort, 1B Conrad Gregor had a 3-for-5 game with two runs scored and an RBI.


Quebec 3, Sussex County 2 – Box Score

The Quebec Capitales jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings of play and would go on to defeat Sussex County by the final of 3-2.

Quebec scored a pair of runs in the first inning on a ground-rule double by C Maxx Tissenbaum. The Capitales then added a run in the second as RF Phildrick Llewellyn came home to score on a wild pitch by Miners starter Cory Jones. Sussex County came right back in the third and cut the deficit to 3-1 on a solo home run by DH Audy Ciriaco. The score would stay way until the ninth when Sussex County plated a run to cut the deficit the 3-2 but left the bases loaded to end the ballgame.

Tissenbaum went 1-for-3 with two RBIs while LF James McOwen picked-up a pair of hits in four at-bats along with a run scored.

Quebec starting pitcher Lazaro Blanco tossed seven solid innings to notch his fourth win of the season. Blanco gave up an earned run on four hits and struck out seven batters.


Trois-Rivieres 9, New Jersey 4 – Box Score

Trois-Rivieres rolled out to a 4-0 lead after three innings of action and would cruise from there to a 9-4 win over New Jersey.

The Aigles banged out 14 hits in the contest with eight batters collecting at least one. Trois-Rivieres LF Javier Herrera went 2-for-5 with two home runs and two RBIs while RF Alberth Martinez added three hits in five at-bats along with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Catcher Anthony Hermelyn also chipped in a two-run blast for the Aigles.

Trois-Rivieres starting pitcher Jacob Evans threw six shutout innings and earned his first win with the team. Evans gave up only a hit while striking out seven in a 70-pitch performance.

For New Jersey, RF Jordan Hinshaw went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs.
