DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders INF Conrad Gregor (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 17.

Gregor enjoyed a strong week at the plate, going 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles, three home runs, and 10 RBI.

The Sanibel, Fla. resident began his week on Tuesday with a doubleheader against the Sussex County Miners. In game one, Gregor was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, and played the hero role for the Boulders. With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh and a runner on, Gregor stepped up to the plate and blasted a two-run walk-off home run to give Rockland a 4-2 win. Though Rockland fell in the nightcap 14-10, Gregor was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Gregor went hitless on Wednesday in a Rockland loss, but stepped up to play a pivotal role in Thursday’s 11-9 win in the series finale against the Miners. Gregor went 3-for-4 in the game with a double, a walk, and a run scored.

On Friday, Rockland opened a weekend series against the traveling Dominican Republic team. Gregor walked twice and scored a run in a 16-0 romp in the series opener. Rockland reached double digits in the run column again on Saturday, winning 14-4. Gregor’s bat was a key contributor in the win, as he was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored. His last game of the week on Sunday was a 15-1 Rockland win in which he was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, five RBI, and three runs scored.

On the season, Gregor is now hitting .355 with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs, and 19 RBI. His average is tied for third among qualifiers in the Can-Am League.

Gregor is in his first season with Rockland after splitting the 2017 season between the New Jersey Jackals and the Class A Advanced Salem Red Sox of the Boston Red Sox system. In 69 games with the Jackals, Gregor hit .303 with 16 doubles, 12 home runs, and 74 RBI. His performance was strong enough to merit his contract being sold to the Red Sox on August 3.

Gregor joined New Jersey fresh off of a four-year stint in the Houston Astros system. Gregor was selected by the Astros in the fourth round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft from Vanderbilt University, and began his professional career that summer with the Tri-City (N.Y.) ValleyCats of the New York-Penn League. He hit .289 over 270 at-bats in 74 games. In 2014, Gregor’s first full season, he hit .311 across 124 games between the Class A Quad Cities (Iowa) River Bandits, Class A Advanced Lancaster (Calif.) JetHawks, and Class AA Corpus Christi Hooks. Gregor spent the entirety of 2015 and 2016 with Corpus Christi.

Gregor attended Vanderbilt after turning down the Chicago White Sox, who drafted him in the 40th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. While at Vanderbilt, Gregor helped the Commodores to two SEC Championships (2011 and 2013), and a berth in the 2011 College World Series.

The Boulders will enjoy an off day on Monday before opening a road series at the New Jersey Jackals on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. The game, like all in the Can-Am League, can be seen live and for free at
