GREGOR’S SINGLE IN THE 11TH GIVES BOULDERS WALK-OFF VICTORY

AUGUST 5 EVENING LEAGUE RECAP

Rockland 8, Trois-Rivieres 7 (11 Innings) – Box Score

Left fielder Conrad Gregor (pictured) singled home 2B Jared McDonald with the game winning run in the 11th inning as Rockland rallied from two runs down to defeat Trois-Rivieres by the score of 8-7.

With the game deadlocked at 5-5 through 10 innings of play, the Aigles made it a 7-5 contest in the top of the 11th on RBI doubles by SS Sam Dexter and CF Alexi Colon. In the bottom of the 11th, DH Matt Dacey started the inning at second base and moved over to third base on a wild pitch. After a CF Mike Montville walk, 1B Mikael Mogues flew out to center for the first out. McDonald then came up and singled to left to bring in Dacey and make it a 7-6 game. The next batter, RF Conor Bierfeldt, lined a hit into center to score Montville and tie the game at 7-7.  Gregor then came to the plate and delivered the game winning hit as McDonald scored and the Boulders notched the walk-off win.

McDonald went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI while Montville drew a pair of walks and scored three runs in a 1-for-3 night.

Rockland pitcher Kyle Hansen picked-up the victory and is now 4-0 on the season.
