JACKALS COLLECT 16 HITS IN WIN OVER CAPITALES

July 13 Recap

New Jersey 9, Quebec 4 – Box Score

New Jersey rolled out to a 4-0 lead after three innings of play and would coast from there to a 9-4 win over Quebec.

The Jackals collected 16 hits as a team with five batters picking-up multi-hit outings. New Jersey LF Conrad Gregor led the way going 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI. Jackals C Jason Agresti tallied a pair of runs and an RBI in a perfect 4-for-4 night while CF Alfredo Marte (pictured) and 2B Nelson Ward each contributed two hits and scored a run.

New Jersey starter Eduard Reyes tossed six solid innings of work en route to the victory. The righty allowed an earned run on six hits with a walk and six punchouts. With the win, Reyes is now 6-1 on the 2019 season.

For Quebec, RF Rian Kiniry had a 2-for-4 outing with two runs scored and an RBI.

 

Trois-Rivieres 11, Rockland 5 – Box Score

Trois-Rivieres scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to blow open a tight game and defeat Rockland by the score of 11-5.

The Aigles pounded out 18 hits in the contest with seven batters having multi-hit games. Trois-Rivieres SS Taylor Brennan led the way at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Aigles C Anthony Hermelyn scored two runs and drove in one in a 3-for-5 outing while RF Michael Suchy had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs.

Trois-Rivieres pitcher Bubby Rossman tossed a third of an inning of relief and notched the win. The righty struck out the only batter he faced in the top of the sixth inning. With the victory, Rossman is now 1-0 on the season.

For Rockland in the losing effort, LF Grant Heyman had a 1-for-2 day with two walks and three runs scored.

 

Sussex County 13, Ottawa 6 – Box Score

Sussex County scored four runs in the s inning to take a 10-6 lead and would go on from there to beat Ottawa by the score of 13-6.

The Miners banged out 13 hits in the game and scored at least a run in every inning except the third and fifth. Sussex County CF/RF Mikey Reynolds went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs while 2B Jarred Mederos collected two runs and an RBI in a 2-for-4 night.  Designated hitter Trey Hair also helped the Miners offense by collecting a double in three official trips to the plate along with two runs and two RBIs.

Sussex County starting pitcher Frank Duncan threw six innings and notched his sixth win of the season. Duncan gave up six earned runs on 12 hits and struck out a batter.

Second baseman Maikol Gonzalez had a 3-for-5 night with two runs scored in the loss for the Champions.
