DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders INF Cody Regis (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending May 27.

Regis was 10-for-24 (.417) at the plate in six games this week, recording two doubles, a triple, two home runs, and three RBI.

Regis’ week began with a memorable feat in a Wednesday doubleheader against the Quebec Capitales, as he homered in both ends of the twinbill. In game one, Regis was 2-for-3 with the home run and a pair of runs scored as Rockland won 3-2. He followed that effort up with a 1-for-4 headlined by the home run in a game two setback. Rockland wrapped up a series victory on Thursday, taking a 5-2 win over the Capitales. Regis’ lone hit of the game was his first triple in a Boulders uniform, and he scored a run in the win.

Despite the fact that Rockland was swept over the weekend at Trois-Rivieres, Regis’ bat was a contributor for the Boulders all weekend long. He opened the series Friday with a four-hit night that included a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Regis collected another hit and another run scored Saturday, and capped his week on Sunday with a double.

Through his first 10 games in 2018, Regis is hitting .385 with two doubles, a triple, four home runs, and nine RBI.

Regis is in his second season with Rockland after two years in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He hit .290 with 25 doubles, three triples, a home run and 58 RBI in 2015 with Class A Kane County of the Midwest League, and followed that up with a 2016 season split between Class A Advanced Visalia of the California League and Class AA Mobile of the Southern League. He hit a combined .256 in 2016, notching 16 doubles, five triples, a home run and 36 RBI. Regis, a UCLA product, had a banner year in his first campaign with Rockland. He hit .299 a season ago, collecting 15 doubles, 14 home runs, and 58 RBI.

Rockland will open a road series at the Quebec Capitales tonight at 7:05 p.m. from Stade Municipal in Quebec City. The game, like all Can-Am League contests, can be seen live and for free at
