Thornhill, Ontario — Sussex County Miners RHP Jeff Thompson is the Can-Am League’s Pitcher of the week for the week of August 19-25, as selected by PointStreak, the league’s official statistician.

Thompson had a pair of strong outings on the week, first on Tuesday when he earned the victory over Trois-Rivières, giving up two runs on four hits in 6.2 innings, striking out eight. He followed up with an outstanding complete-game win over Quebec on Saturday, allowing a run on five hits with seven Ks.

In his first season in the Can-Am League, the Louisville, Ky., native leads the circuit with ten wins and is third with 109.1 innings pitched to go along with a 3.70 ERA for first-place Sussex County.
