Rockland County, NY (May 29, 2019) – New York area favorites Mookie Wilson, Jesse Barfield, and John Flaherty are scheduled to appear as part of the Legends Team for the All-Star Game Home Run Derby, to be held on Tuesday, July 9 at Palisades Credit Union Park. Wilson, one of the most popular players in New York Mets history, spent all or parts of 10 of his 12 MLB seasons in Flushing, and is revered for his role in the team’s 1986 World Championship. In that same season, Barfield led the American League with 40 of his 241 career homers, including 62 over his four years with the New York Yankees. Flaherty, Rockland’s Favorite Son, followed his 14-year MLB career (the last three with the Yankees) not only by joining the Pinstripes in the broadcast booth, but also serving as a founding owner of the Rockland Boulders franchise in 2011, a role he retains today.

Earlier that day, the Boulders will host an All-Star Luncheon, featuring guest speaker and Yankees broadcast legend John Sterling, with proceeds going to the non-profit Boulders Community Fund. Then the stars will shine for the contest between the Can-Am League and the Frontier League on Wednesday, July 10.
